Review: "Wanted" by J. Kenner

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared to You, and Release Me comes an all-new erotic series of three enigmatic and powerful men, and the striking women who can bring them to their knees. He is everything I crave, all I desperately want—and he is everything I can’t have. Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets. My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan’s dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can’t fight. And from the moment we touch—the passion between us consuming us both—I know that I will never be the same. Wanted is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.
Thank you to Netgalley and the the publisher for allowing me to read and review an ARC of this book.

Not exactly your typical New Adult fare, but close enough that fans of the genre are going to love it.  I quite enjoyed it.  The build up of the relationship between Angie and Evan was well-paced and plotted.  There were a couple of surprises in the mix, and the sex was HOT!

I also liked the character development.  Angie was definitely flawed, and seriously feeling guilty about it.  And Evan - well, he's into something dangerous, but he makes no excuses, and Angie is really drawn to that dark side of his personality.  It's refreshing to see a girl who's not the quintessential innocent virgin and a guy who's not the typical "bad boy" - he's a man who does what he needs to get ahead, and he's up front about what he wants from Angie.

As for the plot, I liked that there was a bit of mystery and suspense.  The book wasn't completely about Angie and Evan and their relationship.  The ending just solidified the fact that I want to read the next in the series.

My rating:  3.5 stars!
