This is my first Jennifer Probst novel, and I have to say that I am impressed. It was a really cute read and exactly what I needed to get me out of a bit of a reading slump!
Kate and Slade are dynamic and likable characters, and of course, as is typical of this genre, sparks fly whenever they are together. In this case, however, the sparks are literal and not figurative, lending a bit of magic to the story, which is kind of fun for a change.
The other thing I will probably always remember about "Searching for Someday" is Kate's dog. He's a paraplegic that Kate rescued from certain death and now has an intense connection with, and it was great to see Slade fall for the little guy too. Even more interesting is the fact that Jennifer Probst based this character on a real life paraplegic dog!
There are also some complications to the love story. Slade at first thinks Kate and her business are fraudulent, and he's out to prove it. Kate feels her gift kick into gear whenever she touches Slade, but how can he be her soul mate when he doesn't even believe in true love? All in all, "Searching for Someday" has a well-rounded plot and enough depth to keep it memorable.
